A youth was killed leaving another injured when a motorcycle met with an accident at Phalante, Ruru rural municipality -3 in the district on Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as 23-year-old Raju Saru of Ruru Rural Municipality-3, who was heading towards Ridi from the district headquarters, Tamghas, on his motorcycle at the time of the accident, informed Ridi Police Beat Inspector Krishna Prasad Bhattarai.

He was critically injured in the mishap and was rushed to a health facility in Ruru where he breathed his last, police said.

Likewise, Ishwari Rawat, 21, from the same locality who was pillion riding was also injured in the accident and has been referred to Palpa for further medical treatment.

The police have suspected over speeding to be the cause of the accident.
