Division Road Office, Damauli, has started to use explosives to open the blocked Chame-Beshisahar road. The road has remained obstructed due to a massive landslide at Arkhalebeshi in Marsyangdi Rural Municipality-3, Lamjung, since last September 3.
The office said they had to resort to explosion after their efforts to open the roads with excavators went futile. Engineer Gautam Kumar Shrestha said they had opened 31 holes to start the blast but the blast has not gone as planned. He said they could not open big holes on the rocks due to lack of equipment and use of gelatin for powerful explosion was also not possible due to nearby houses and fishery.
Shrestha said the road is likely to be opened by Monday morning.
