The injured have been identified as Jagat Singh Chauhan and Chandra Kishor Singh of Banbasa, India.
Chauhan sustained bullets in his arm and fingers while Singh sustained bullets in his back.
Both of them are receiving treatment at the Mahakali Zonal Hospital.
The duo had informed police after reaching the Gaudachauki Police Post which is one km from the incident site.
Police said that they have arrested two persons in connection with the incident.
The suspects have been identified as Bikram Nath and Karan Bhandari of the Matena, Bhimdutta Municiaplity-9 of the district, according to the SP Prakash Chand of the District Police Office, Kanchanpur.
The incident occurred while they were returning from a casino at around 9 pm yesterday.
“Bhandari had ridden a bike and Nath opened fire on the Indian men,” SP Chand said.
“Before the incident, Bhandari and Nath had tried to intercept the Indian duo. When the Indian duo did not stop, the assailants chased them and opened fire,” he added.
Police said that they have confiscated a home-made pistol from their possession.
