The arrested duo—Murali Ahir, 70, of Dadhuwa Rural Municipality-2, and Pheran Ahir, 54—was made public at a press conference on Friday. Police had raided their houses, after being tipped-off, and recovered the contraband drugs. The drugs were kept at their houses for transportation to India, police said.
Police has suspected that the elderly men were only working as carriers. The market price of the seized hashish is estimated to be around Rs 360,000, police said.
