NEC Chairman Lambodar Neupane on Thursday wrote a letter to the Vice-Chancellor of the University urging the latter to scrap the application related to its affiliation to the collage.
The college students have been staging demonstrations in the Capital for the past few days saying that the NEC, which already has affiliation with the Pokhara University, was trying to get affiliation from the Mid-Western University in a “non-transparent” way.
An executive council meeting of the University held on August 13 had decided to grant affiliation to the NEC.
The college was dragged into controversy after some of the operators of the college on May 8 registered a new company, Nepal Engineering College Pvt. Ltd, by selling the NEC operated through social organisation.
College Chairman Neupane on Thursday had also filed an application at the Company Registrar Office demanding annulment of the company. He also turned in his resignation from the police custody on Thursday.
The Mid-Western University has not been able to operate a single college under its affiliation in eight years since its establishment.
