SSP Khanal appointed MTPD Chief
Nepal Police spokesperson Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) Sarbendra Khanal has been appointed chief of Metropolitan Traffic Police Division (MTPD).

Nepal Police spokesperson Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) Sarbendra Khanal has been appointed chief of Metropolitan Traffic Police Division (MTPD).
DIG Mingmar Lama, who was the head of MTPD earlier, has been appointed as the head of Central Traffic Directorate.
Khanal had served as the head of Metropolitan Police Crime Division before being appointed as the spokesperson of Nepal Police.
He came to limelight after the encounter of notorious gangster Kumar Shrestha aka Ghainte and the Nepal football match fixing case.
Nepal Police Promotion Committee had kept SSP Khanal on the top of the list for the promotion to Deputy Inspector General (DIG).
It has been learnt that Khanal will assume the office from Tuesday itself.
