Dadeldhura
As filing of nominations for second phase local level elections was held in Province 1, 5 and 7 on Sunday, nominations in Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba’s home district Dadeldhura remained peaceful.
Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and CPN (Maoist Centre) have field their candidates for all posts of two municipalities and five village councils of the districts. Except for these parties, 13 other parties registered with the district election office could not nominate candidates for all posts.
The second phase of local polls is slated for June 28 while the first phase was completed in Provinces 3, 4 and 6. The elections in Province 2 have been postponed to September 18 due to protest from Rastriya Janata Party-Nepal.
