Although it is not contesting in the elections under the party's name, it is doing so in the name of the Patriotic People's Republican Front which it constituted under the leadership of one of its leaders, CP Gajurel.
The CPN (Revolutionary Maoist) has not been assigned the elections symbol by the Election Commission as the party is not represented in the parliament.
But the candidates contesting in the local level elections would be vying for different local level offices as independents.
In a press release, party chairman Mohan Baidya said that although the party has not taken part in the local level elections, it has adopted the policy of supporting the Patriotic People's Republican Front Nepal.
He has urged the workers, peasants, women, dalits and the people of the indigenous nationalities, Madhesi, the backward region and intellectuals to vote the Front's candidates. RSS
