Around a dozen Nepali missions are currently without envoys.
The 14 names recommended by the erstwhile KP Sharma Oli government were withdrawn by the new Maoist Centre-Nepali Congress dispensation led by Pushpa Kamal Dahal on August 5, two days after he was elected the prime minister.
The incumbent government in October-end re-appointed Deep Kumar Upadhyay as the ambassador to India and former chief secretary Leela Mani Poudyal was appointed as the ambassador to China.
Upadhyay was recalled by the erstwhile government in May.
Nepali missions in Australia, Japan, South Korea, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Denmark, Myanmar, Oman, Qatar, the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Sri Lanka are currently without ambassadors.
