The agitating Samyukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha has organised a massive ‘baton rally’ in Malangwa, the district headquarters of Sarlahi, on Tuesday. Although thousands of people participated in the rally, it concluded peacefully. 

The rally was taken out to express the dissatisfaction over constitution promulgation process that is being drafted when the entire Madhes is agitating against it.

Bhagya Narayan Raya, a participant of the protest, said, thousands of people poured onto the streets against the government effort to repress the Madhesi voice. “This crowd demonstrates how many people are in support of protest,” he said. 

The Morcha leaders had directed the protestors to keep the rally peaceful. Local administration had prepared special cautionary measures in view of possible untoward incident. Security personnel were heavily deployed.
