LG built 100 of the 129 shelters donated. The Chaudhary Foundation is building a total of 200 transitional homes in Dolalghat. It said that it would build the remaining homes through its own funding.

CG is the official distributor of LG products in Nepal. The Korean electronics conglomerate has partnered with the company to support earthquake victims.   

According to the Chaudhary Foundation, it is speeding up the building of 10,000 transitional shelters. The foundation has planned to build 1,000 shelters with its own money and another 9,000 shelters by cooperating with donors.  

“The Chaudhary Foundation has always been active in supporting the community through several initiatives. Before the earthquake, we were supporting the education sector through scholarship schemes. Right after the country was struck by the earthquake, we thought of providing shelter to the people. We feel it is the best way to serve the community and the people,” Chaudhary said. “We look forward to handing over 10,000 shelters in the near future.”

According to Chaudhary, around 380 homes have been handed over to earthquake survivors. He added that the foundation was also building 100 shelters. “We have already handed over three schools,” Chaudhary said. “The reconstruction work of another school building is underway.”  

Likewise, Yi expressed happiness at being able to build shelters for Nepal’s earthquake survivors. “This is an emotional contribution from LG to the people of Nepal,” Yi said. “I would like to thank CG. Without our partner in Nepal, we could not have helped the people like we have succeeded in doing.”
