Nepal’s Covid-19 toll reaches 2,065 with four more deaths; national tally reaches 273,666 with 110 new infections

Nepal on Tuesday reported four more Covid-19 related fatalities, pushing the death toll to 2,065. The country also recorded 110 new cases.
The overall infection tally has reached 273,666 with 1,533 active cases.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 270,068 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; of them 102 in the past 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 53 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of them, 43 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, six in Bhaktapur and four in Lalitpur.
As of Tuesday, the number of confirmed cases in the Valley has reached 127,996. While Kathmandu has reported 505 Covid-19-related fatalities so far, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur have recorded 164 and 115 deaths respectively.
According to the ministry, 1,011 individuals from Bagmati Province, 293 from Lumbini Province, 230 from Province 1, 220 from Province 2, 217 from Gandaki Province, 67 from Sudurpaschim Province, and 27 from Karnali Province have died of Covid-19 so far.
As of Tuesday, 2,146,533 PCR tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 3,218 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the data released by the ministry.
In the past 24 hours, 60 new infections were recorded in Bagmati Province, 27 in Lumbini, 12 in Gandaki Province, six in Sudurpaschim, three in Province 2 and two in Province 1.
While Kathmandu has more than 500 active cases, Khotang, Solukhumbu, Mustang, Rukum (West), Mugu and Achham districts do not have any active cases, according to the ministry.
Until Tuesday, 46 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country, 12 others—six in Bagmati, three in Gandaki, two in Lumbini, and one in Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal had reported 125 new coronavirus infections on Monday. Similarly, 80 new infections were recorded on Sunday while the country had reported 88 new cases on Saturday.
