Northbridge
Northbridge suburb is popular among students due to its proximity to the city and various universities. It boasts numerous restaurants, shops, and entertainment options that appeal to the student demographic.

Pros:
The area has a significant student population, which fosters a friendly atmosphere. The public transport links make it easy for students to commute to their universities and explore the city.

Northbridge can be quite noisy, particularly on weekends and during events.
Joondalup
Joondalup is a prominent suburb approximately 26 kilometres north of Perth’s central business district. It is a hub for educational and housing institutions, including Edith Cowan University and North Metropolitan TAFE. Joondalup enjoys a Mediterranean-like climate characterised by hot summers and mild winters.

Pros:
Joondalup is home to Edith Cowan University (ECU) and has shopping centres, restaurants, and recreational facilities, including parks and lakes.
Cons:
It is about 26 kilometres from Perth’s central business district, which may be inconvenient for those who prefer urban living.
Victoria Park
Victoria Park is a well-established suburb located 4 km southeast of Perth’s city centre.

Pros:
The location is near Perth’s city centre, making it convenient for work and leisure. Buses and trains are also good transport options, making commuting easy.
Victoria Park Reserve and nearby areas offer space for outdoor activities, making it a good place for families and fitness enthusiasts.
Cons:
Due to its proximity to the city, the cost of housing (both renting and buying) is higher than in more suburban areas.
The busy nature of the suburb can make parking a challenge, especially in the more congested areas.
Cannington
Cannington is about 13 km southeast of Perth’s CBD. It is a bit more suburban and quieter than Victoria Park. It is a diverse area with residential, commercial, and industrial spaces.

Pros:
Housing prices are more affordable in the suburbs than in inner-city areas. The suburbs have parks, schools, and larger residential areas, ideal for families.
It is an evolving suburb with new developments and enhanced infrastructure, which has attracted many immigrants.
Cons:
Some parts of Cannington have industrial or commercial zones, making them feel less residential and aesthetically pleasing.
It's farther from Perth’s beaches and the river than other suburbs, which might be a downside for those who enjoy coastal living.
Maylands
Maylands is a picturesque suburb about 6 km northeast of Perth’s CBD. It offers a more relaxed environment while still being close to the city. The area has a mix of older heritage homes, new developments and plenty of green spaces.

Pros:
Maylands has beautiful riverside parks, walking paths, and recreational areas, offering a more relaxed, nature-based lifestyle. It is well served by public transport, including the train. Many Nepali students attend the colleges and work in the city.
Cons:
Its desirable location, proximity to the river and peaceful nature can lead to higher property prices than in more suburban areas.
