The Meteorological Forecasting Division has said the country is under the influence of a westerly low-pressure system. Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces are experiencing partly to generally cloudy conditions, while the rest of the country has clear weather. Some areas of the Tarai have reported foggy conditions.
This afternoon, hilly regions will see partly to generally cloudy skies, while the rest of the country will remain clear. Light snowfall is expected in some high-altitude areas of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, as well as one or two places in the high hills and mountains of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces.
Tonight, hilly regions will experience partly cloudy conditions, while the rest of the country will have clear skies. Light snowfall is expected in one or two places in the high hills and mountains of Koshi, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces.
The division has warned that light snowfall in the high-altitude areas of Karnali, Sudurpaschim, Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces over the next 24 hours could affect daily life, health, road transport, and aviation.
Meanwhile, meteorologist Binu Maharjan said there is no likelihood of rainfall in Kathmandu Valley for the next three days, though partial cloud cover is expected.
The minimum temperature in the Valley was recorded at 8.6 degrees Celsius at 5:45am on Wednesday, while the maximum temperature is expected to range between 21 and 23 degrees Celsius.
