Post Report
Kathmandu Valley experienced rainfall on Tuesday due to the influence of local winds, bringing respite to the residents from the scorching heat.
According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, the local wind developed near Butwal, southwest of Kathmandu, and entered the Valley via Dhading, causing the rainfall.
According to senior meteorologist Min Kumar Aryal, the wind triggered the rains for an hour and a half before moving towards the north. This is considered a pre-monsoon phenomenon, he explained.
Currently, Nepal is under the influence of local winds, along with some effects from the westerly wind, and a low-pressure system stretching from the Northwestern region of India to East Bengal.
The monsoon is anticipated to enter Nepal on June 13, although this date may vary by a few days.
Kathmandu recorded a maximum temperature of 32.2 degrees Celcius on Monday.
