Morning mist is likely in some parts of the Tarai on Saturday, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division.

The division said the mountainous and hilly regions of Koshi Province will see generally cloudy conditions, along with the remaining mountainous areas of the country. Other hilly regions will be partly cloudy, while most Tarai areas will remain mainly fair.

Light rain or snowfall accompanied by thunder and lightning is possible at a few places in the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi and in the mountainous areas of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces. One or two places in the mountains of other provinces may also receive light rain or snow. Isolated light rain with thunder is also likely in the hills of Bagmati and Gandaki.

Tonight, mist is expected in a few Tarai locations. The mountainous regions of Koshi and Gandaki will remain generally cloudy, while their hilly areas and other mountainous regions will be partly cloudy. The rest of the country will see mainly fair weather. Light rain or snowfall with thunder is possible at one or two places in the mountainous regions of Koshi and Gandaki.

The division said a westerly low-pressure system is partly influencing Nepal’s upper atmosphere at present.
