Navin Kumar Ghimire recommended for CIAA chief
A meeting of Constitutional Council on Wednesday recommended Navin Kumar Ghimire as the chief commissioner of Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA).

A meeting of Constitutional Council on Wednesday recommended Navin Kumar Ghimire as the chief commissioner of Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA).
The meeting at Prime Minister’s Office made the recommendation. Ghimire will be appointed to the post by the president following a parliamentary hearing.
Ghimire was appointed as CIAA commissioner on on April 2, 2015, after his retirement as Home Secretary.
Ghimire had been taking charge of CIAA as the acting chief since February 14 this year following the retirement of the then chief Deep Basnyat.
According to the constitutional provision, parliamentary hearing shall be conducted before the appointment of CIAA chief.
