Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) candidate Rukesh Ranjit has unseated veteran Prem Suwal of the Nepal Majdoor Kishan Party in Bhaktapur-1. Leading from the start, Ranjit secured 33,436 votes, while Suwal finished with 28,147.
Suwal had held this seat consecutively and won the 2022 elections by a 30,000-vote margin. Ranjit’s victory signals a major political shift in the constituency.
