A student of Hattiban-based Little Angels School drowned to death in the school swimming pool on Tuesday evening.

The deceased has been identified as Rahul Sah, 14, of Dhanusha. He was a eighth grader and had been staying at the school hostel.

According to police, Sah, who was found unconscious in the swimming pool, breathed his last while being rushed to a hospital.

The body has been taken to the Maharajgunj-based Teaching Hospital for postmortem.

Meanwhile, Sah’s family members have claimed that the death is a homicide and have filed a complaint against four people including school operator Umesh Shrestha, Principal and hostel warden, among others.

The victim’s uncle, Satya Narayan Sah said that Rahul’s demise by drowning was impossible as he was capable of swimming across the river.

He said that Rahul could have been thrown into the swimming pool after being murdered.
