Speaking at his farewell ceremony organised at Nepal Police Headquarters on Tuesday, Aryal said, "How will a police personnel provide 'service with smile' if his future is mired by such uncertainty."
Aryal took over the Nepal Police helm three years ago and is retiring from today. Twelve AIGs also retired today with Aryal.
Government appointed Jaya Bahadur Chand as new IGP despite him being third in seniority basis behind DIG Nawaraj Silwal and DIG Prakash Aryal on Sunday. Only hours after his appointment, a Supreme Court order stayed his appointment and suspended implementation of Chand's appointment as IGP.
