The Constitutional Council (CC) on Monday recommended acting chief justice of the Supreme Court Sushila Karki to the post of chief justice.

A meeting of the CC held at the Prime Minister's official residence in Baluwatar recommended her name and decided to send the recommendation for parliamentary hearing, said Law Minister Agni Kharel.

Earlier, the council had recommended the name of Karki for the same but remained ineffectual due to absence of speaker Onsari Gharti. RSS
