Families and relatives of workers missing after the Bhotekoshi floods gathered at Maitighar Mandala in Kathmandu on Monday, demanding that authorities step up the search for their loved ones.

The workers were employed at the Trishuli-3B hydropower project when the floods struck. Days later, their whereabouts remain unknown.

Carrying banners bearing photographs of the missing, the families said their patience had run out and urged the government to mobilise every available resource to find them.

“We have already suffered the loss of our loved ones. The delay in the search is adding to our anguish,” relatives said, calling for more personnel, technology and security forces to be deployed in the affected areas.

Search and rescue operations continue across parts of the flood-hit region, but the fate of many people swept away or reported missing remains unknown.
