Vote counting has been stalled in Bajura-1 after the number of votes counted exceeded the number of votes cast.
According to the district’s Chief Election Officer Nawaraj Awasthi, the vote counting for the first-past-the-post seat at the Dhim polling station in Himali Rural Municipality-6 had been stalled after the polling officer found that there were 40 votes more than documented.
As per the primary results, NC’s Bhadri Prasad Pandey is leading with 5,419 votes. Pandey’s closest rival Karna Bahadur Thapa of the CPN-UML is trailing by 1,290 votes. Thapa has received 4,129 votes so far.
