The meeting of the House of Representatives that was scheduled for Tuesday afternoon has been postponed.
The meeting was adjourned after lawmakers from the main opposition party CPN-UML took a stand to obstruct House proceedings until a high-level investigation committee is formed to probe the gold smuggling case.
Earlier in the day, the main opposition had notified the Speaker that party lawmakers would surround the well and obstruct House proceedings if the House meeting took place without forming a high-level committee.
Following the notice, the Parliament Secretariat pasted a notice stating that the next House meeting will be held on August 7 at 1 pm.
The main opposition had obstructed House proceedings on Monday as well.
