Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) senior leader and the party’s prime ministerial candidate, Balendra Shah, widely known as Balen, continues to lead by a wide margin over former prime minister KP Sharma Oli in Jhapa-5.
According to the latest vote count, Shah has secured 52,096 votes, while CPN-UML chair Oli has received 14,031 votes. The senior leader of RSP is 38,065 votes ahead Oli.
Laxmi Prasad Sangroula of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party is third with 11,333 votes, followed by Samir Tamang of the Shram Sanskriti Party with 8,008 votes.
Mandhara Chimariya of the Nepali Congress has received 1,417 votes, while Ranjit Tamang of the Nepali Communist Party has secured 1,176 votes.
