Pakistan, Nepal parliamentarians reiterate commitment to stronger ties
Pakistani envoy highlights cultural roots and parliamentary diplomacy as pillars of bilateral cooperation.

The Embassy of Pakistan in Kathmandu facilitated a meeting between the Pakistani envoy and the Pakistan-Nepal Parliamentary Friendship Group of Nepal’s Federal Parliament on Thursday.
The event brought together members of the Friendship Group, diplomats from the Pakistan Embassy, and representatives of the Nepal-Pakistan Friendship and Cultural Association.
During the meeting, the Pakistani envoy praised the “longstanding and cordial relations between Pakistan and Nepal, rooted in shared cultural heritage, mutual respect, and regional affinity.”
He underscored Pakistan’s commitment to “further expand relations between the two Parliaments and bilateral cooperation in trade, tourism, education, health, culture, climate resilience, P2P and regional peace.”
The ambassador also briefed the Nepali side on recent developments in Pakistan’s economy and regional context, reaffirming Islamabad’s “vision for a peaceful and prosperous South Asia.” He welcomed the interest of Nepali lawmakers in deepening parliamentary diplomacy and strengthening institutional ties.
Members of the Friendship Group expressed satisfaction with the “relations free of irritants” and acknowledged Pakistan’s consistent support to Nepal.
They emphasised the need to explore “new avenues of collaboration, particularly economic, cultural, youth, women, marginalised groups, technical support and capacity-building.”
Both sides committed to maintaining regular dialogue and institutional engagement to further solidify the multifaceted partnership and enhance bonds between the peoples of Pakistan and Nepal.
