President Ramchandra Paudel has prorogued the current session of both houses of the Federal Parliament, effective from Tuesday midnight.
The decision was made on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers, in line with Article 93(2) of the Constitution, the Office of President said in a statement on Tuesday.
A Cabinet meeting on Monday had decided to advise the President to end the session, leading to the formal prorogation.
The current session started on January 31.
