Ruling parties have decided to expedite the passage of pending bills in Parliament. A meeting of top leaders from the ruling parties, held on Tuesday at the prime minister's residence in Baluwatar, discussed the swift progression of pending legislation.

Labour, Employment, and Social Minister Sharat Singh Bhandari shared the details after the meeting, highlighting the focus on reaching political consensus on the Ordinance to Amend Some Nepal Acts Related to Land Management 2025.

President Ramchandra Paudel had issued the ordinance in January upon the recommendation of a Cabinet meeting.

The meeting was attended by Prime Minister and CPN-UML chairman KP Sharma Oli, Nepali Congress President and former prime minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, Chairman of the Loktantrik Samajbadi Party Mahanta Thakur, Janamat Party chair CK Raut, Janata Samajbadi Party chair Ashok Rai, and Nagarik Unmukti Party chair Ranjita Shrestha, according to a press note issued by the prime minister’s secretariat.

They discussed several current issues, with a particular emphasis on the land management ordinance.
