Nepal calls for calm and restraint on Bangladesh unrest

Nepal has spoken on the recent political developments in Bangladesh and called for calm and restraint by all the concerned sides.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday said that Nepal is deeply concerned about the loss of lives and properties during the protests over the last few weeks in Bangladesh.
Issuing a press statement, the ministry “called for calm and restraint by all and stressed on the importance of an orderly return to the democratic process”.
Nepal’s statement came two days after Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina of Bangladesh resigned and fled to India on Monday.
Agitating groups and other stakeholders on Tuesday night agreed to form an interim government under the leadership of Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus and the situation in the country is expected to return to normalcy.
