The government of Nepal has said it is shocked to learn of the terrorist attacks during a musical concert near Moscow on Friday that resulted in the loss of precious lives and injuries to many innocent people.
“The government of Nepal, in line with its principled position, unequivocally condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestations and holds the view that terrorism must be firmly and resolutely dealt with wherever and whenever it takes place,” said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement on Saturday. “The government of Nepal extends heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathies to the people and government of the Russian Federation as well as to the victims and their families.”
The government of Nepal wishes speedy recovery of those injured and believes that the perpetrators of these heinous acts should be brought to justice at the earliest, said the foreign ministry.
At least 60 people were killed and over 145 were injured in an attack claimed by Islamic State militants, according to Reuters.
"Verified video showed people taking their seats in the hall, then rushing for the exits as repeated gunfire echoed above screams. Other video showed men shooting at groups of people. Some victims lay motionless in pools of blood," Reuters reported.
