Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Nepal to the United Nations Lok Bahadur Thapa on Friday presented his credentials to the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.
After the ceremony at the UN Headquarters in New York, the ambassador called on Guterres and exchanged views on various aspects of Nepal-UN relations, according to the Permanent Mission of Nepal to the United Nations.
On August 7, President Ramchandra Paudel appointed Thapa to head the mission after his name was approved by the Parliamentary Hearing Committee.
Earlier to the appointment, Thapa worked at the North-East Asia division at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He previously served as Nepal’s envoy to Belgium.
