The Ministry of Home Affairs on Wednesday issued a circular to all district administration offices to shut down crusher industries operating illegally.
The ministry, through the circular, has directed the DAOs to immediately close crusher industries involved in quarrying and processing of stone, gravel and sand, that are operating without registering, renewing, and obtaining an operating permit in violation of the law.
Similarly, the ministry has also asked the DAOs to investigate and immediately shut down quarry works that have continued even after the completion of the various development projects, for which the concerned industries and construction businessmen were granted permission to extract stone, gravel and sand.
