The Supreme Court on Monday issued an interim order staying the government’s decision that allowed 32-seater vehicle and vehicles weighing over 16 tons to ply on the BP Highway.
A single bench of Justice Sapana Pradhan Malla issued the order directing the government not to implement the decision that allowed operation of heavy vehicles along the Banepa-Bardibas highway.
Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Management Raghubir Mahaseth on May 27 had decided to allow heavy vehicles to run along the highway.
Advocate Kailash Dahal had filed a writ petition against the government decision.
