Nepal Communist Party lawmaker Ram Kumari Jhakri has said that the remarks made by Finance Minister Yubaraj Khatiwada were irresponsible.

Addressing a press conference on Wednesday, Finance Minister Khatiwada had said that a political agreement made by the lawmakers inside the Parliament ‘trapped’ him to allocate Rs 40 million budget for the development of each election constituency.

 “It is an irresponsible remark from a person holding a government post that he was trapped while allocating budget,” Jhakri said while addressing a Parliament meeting on Thursday. “A person holding the post should take responsibility of his works.”

Despite wide spread criticism from the general public, the government had allocated budget for each electoral constituencies in the name of development.

Meanwhile, lawmaker Jhakri said that all lawmakers have not demanded budget for constituency development.
