Addressing a programme organised in Hetauda on Thursday, he urged PM Oli to strengthen the relationship between the two countries in a new way by improving the agreements signed against national interests.
Though India had committed to construct the Pancheshwar Multipurpose Project 20 years ago, the construction has not been started yet, he said. Leader Thapa urged PM Oli to finalise the implementation of the agreement during his India visit.
Saying that the so-called nationalist incumbent government had granted permission to India to construct makeshift bridges in Darchula, Nepal-India border, he smelled rat over the government’s intention to protect the national sovereignty.
Coming down heavily over the government’s recent decision to trim the public holidays, former Deputy Prime Minister Thapa said that it was sheer attack on important traditional festivals. He further said that the decision was made with an intention to surrender to foreigners.
Meanwhile, Thapa said that Hetauda will remain the capital of Province 3.
