A question paper for the Secondary Education Examination (SEE) was leaked 12 minutes after the exam began at a centre in Karnali Province on Tuesday.
The incident occurred at Himashikhar Secondary School in Tatopani Rural Municipality during the social studies exam. Officials said a student inside the examination hall used a mobile phone to circulate the question paper.
The Education Development and Coordination Unit in Jumla has initiated an investigation into the incident. Unit chief Ramesh Luwar said all mobile phones at the centre have been confiscated.
He said the question paper appeared in a student group chat, but the person who shared it has not yet been identified. Efforts are underway to trace the source.
Himashikhar Secondary School serves as an examination centre for five schools.
Meanwhile, at Ratnachudheswar Secondary School in Bohoragaun, authorities suspect another question paper leak during Monday’s science examination.
An investigation team has been deployed, and a report is expected later on Tuesday. Paudel said strict action will be taken against those found responsible.
At the Bohoragaun centre, the unit chief has ordered the removal of a teacher deployed in the examination hall where the incident occurred.
Earlier, on the first day of the examinations, the centre chief and a teacher were dismissed over negligence during the English paper.
