CPN-UML has stepped up its election publicity campaign in Dharan Sub Metropolitan city  after finalising the candidates for the post of mayor, deputy mayor, ward chariaman and members on Wednesday.

UML became the first party to announce the name of the candidates in Dharan as other parties including Nepali Congress, CPN (Maoist Centre) among other fringe parties are yet finalise their candidates.

Dharan Sub Metropolitan city, with 20 wards, is known to be a stronghold of the main opposition party.

The party has fielded Tara Subba for the post of mayor and Manju Bhandari will be vying for the post of deputy mayor. The candidates have commenced door-to-door campaign following the registration of their candidacy.
