Activists of Mohan Baidya-led CPN-Maoist vandalised Mugu District Education Office, and manhandled District Education Officer at 2.00 pm Wednesday. The cadres were venting ire at what they call 'monopoly' in appointing teachers in vacant posts.
A group of 50-60 activists headed by CPN-Maoist Mugu coordinator Mangal Bahadur Shahi stormed into the office at 2.30 this afternoon and bounced on District Education Officer Jawari Lal Hamal as well as vandalized the office building.
Officer Hamal sustained minor injuries in the attack while furniture vandalized at the office is worth around Rs 300,000. RSS
