The Indian woman was arrested by AFP personnel along with 105,000 Indian currency last Friday.
Forty-year-old woman of Bauna in Manusyari of India was arrested by the AFP for carrying Indian currency notes 500 and 1000 denomination which are banned in Nepal.
The woman was taken to Kathmandu for further investigation. However, locals of the neighbouring Indian town of Dharchula are protesting against the AFP claiming that she was nabbed without any appropriate reason.
According to Bhupendra Thapa, a local trader of Dharchula, the woman has carried the cash meant for her husband's medical treatment.
