South Korean confectionery brand Orion Choco Pie has donated 100,000 pieces of Choco Pie, worth Rs2.5 million, to support children and families affected by the recent floods in Nepal.
The contribution was made through the company’s local partner, Millenia Global, according to a press statement issued on Thursday.
Orion Choco Pie, which describes itself as the world’s No. 1 Choco Pie brand, said it had maintained a presence in Nepal for nearly five years and had developed a strong connection with consumers across the country.
The company said the contribution reflected its commitment to communities it serves, particularly during times of crisis.
“Nepal has been an important part of Orion Choco Pie’s journey for nearly five years. During difficult times, we believe it is important to stand together and contribute in whatever way we can,” Min Woo Kim, CEO of Orion India, said in the statement. “We hope this contribution provides support and brings a small moment of happiness to children and families affected by the floods,” he said.
