Lumbini Ceramics Limited has received Nepal standard product certification for its flagship tile brands Laminar and Cresta under the recently implemented NS 617:2082standard.
According to the company, Laminar has been certified in the fully vitrified tiles category (Group B Ia), while Cresta has received certification in the porcelain tiles category (Group B Ib). The certification has been issued by the Department of Standards and Metrology.
The NS 617 standard aligns technically with India’s IS 15622 and, in certain performance parameters, exceeds the requirements of the international and European standard ISO 13006, providing Nepal with a nationally recognised, globally benchmarked framework for ceramic tile quality.
Fully vitrified tiles are regarded as the highest category within ceramic tiles due to their high material density and near-impervious structure. The company said that Cresta’s porcelain tiles offer a refined yet cost-effective option for residential and light commercial use, delivering durable surfaces and contemporary designs for flooring and walls.
Designed for low water absorption levels, porcelain tiles offer a balanced combination of durability, design flexibility, and cost efficiency, the company said in a statement.
