Nepal Oil Corporation jacks up fuel prices
Petrol and diesel prices increased by Rs15 per litre, citing rising international rates.Post Report
Nepal Oil Corporation has increased the prices of petroleum products, less than two weeks after its last revision.
The corporation raised the prices of petrol and diesel/kerosene by Rs15 per litre, effective from midnight Wednesday. It had last adjusted prices on March 15.
Under the new rates, petrol is priced at Rs184.50 per litre in the first category, Rs186 in the second, and Rs187 in the third. Diesel and kerosene now cost Rs164.50, Rs166, and Rs167 per litre respectively across the three categories. Petrol will cost Rs187 per litre in Kathmandu.
The first category includes Charaali, Biratnagar, Janakpur, Amlekhgunj, Bhalwari, Nepalgunj, Dhangadhi, and Birgunj. Surkhet and Dang fall under the second category, while Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Dipayal depots are in the third.
The corporation said the price hike follows a rise in international fuel prices. Between March 1 and 24, petrol purchase costs increased by Rs76 per litre and diesel by Rs143 per litre, it said.
