Purvodaya Perspectives 2025 focuses on Indo-Pacific connectivity
Conference in Bhubaneswar discusses infrastructure, trade and energy cooperation.Post Report
The third edition of Purvodaya Perspectives 2025 was held in Bhubaneswar on December 13–14, bringing together policymakers, industry representatives, diplomats and experts to discuss India’s eastern outreach and its role in the Indo-Pacific region.
Organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry in partnership with the Ministry of External Affairs and The Energy Forum, the conference focused on regional connectivity, cross-border infrastructure, energy cooperation and trade integration across South and Southeast Asia.
The inaugural session, titled “Purvodaya & the Indo-Pacific: Aligning infrastructure, trade and economic corridors”, examined ways to strengthen economic corridors and improve coordination among neighbouring countries.
Nicholas Pandey, managing director of Kalika Construction Pvt Ltd, Nepal, participated as a panel speaker and spoke on regional energy cooperation. He highlighted Nepal’s hydropower potential and its relevance to India’s energy needs, stressing the role of cross-border energy trade in supporting growth and regional cooperation.
The conference reaffirmed the importance of connectivity and economic partnerships in strengthening ties across the Indo-Pacific, with participation from neighbouring countries including Nepal.
