Gold and silver prices surge
Gold jumps by Rs7,400 per tola in a day, with global bullion trends staying firm amid safe-haven demand.Post Report
The price of gold increased by Rs7,400 per tola (11.663 grams) on Wednesday. The Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association fixed the price at Rs297,600 per tola for the day.
On Tuesday, gold was traded at Rs290,200 per tola.
Overall, the gold price has risen by Rs9,100 per tola over the past week. Last Wednesday, gold was traded at Rs288,500 per tola.
Silver price also climbed today. Compared to the previous day, silver rose by Rs100 per tola. On Tuesday, it was traded at Rs4,845 per tola, while on Wednesday it reached Rs4,945 per tola. Last Wednesday, silver stood at Rs 4,920 per tola.
International bullion markets also remained firm. According to Reuters, gold is trading near record highs globally as investors move towards safe-haven assets amid economic uncertainty and expectations of interest rate cuts in major economies.
Silver price in the global market has also edged higher. Reuters reported that gains are being supported by strong industrial demand and investor interest, while movements in the US dollar and bond yields continue to influence bullion prices.
