The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index surged by 62.29 points on Monday, closing at 2,571.34—an increase of 2.48 percent compared to the previous trading day.
Out of the companies traded, share prices of 236 increased, while 12 declined and two remained unchanged.
A total of 9.24 million shares were traded 47,094 times, generating a turnover of Rs4.57 billion.
Among the 13 trading sub-indices, all except the trading group posted gains.
The trading sub-index dropped by 28.57 points, while the life insurance and non-life insurance sub-indices rose sharply by 433.62 points and 266.64 points respectively.
