Post Report
Litmus Industries Limited has inaugurated an aluminum rod manufacturing plant, in a significant step for the country’s industrial sector. The facility, located in Ramgram, Nawalparasi, is a part of the company’s Litmus 2.0 initiative and aims to reduce Nepal’s reliance on aluminum imports.
The launch ceremony officiated by Krishna Bahadur Raut, secretary of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and Supply, was attended by government officials, industry leaders, and business experts, who acknowledged the plant’s role in advancing Nepal’s industrial independence and economic resilience.
Currently, Nepal imports aluminum rods for its wires, cables, and conductors sector. The new plant is expected to provide a steady and high-quality supply of aluminum rods, which will reduce the need for imports and help balance the country’s trade deficit. By localising production, Litmus Industries plans to retain valuable revenue within the national economy.
In addition to its economic benefits, the plant will create significant employment opportunities in various sectors. It is anticipated to develop technical expertise within Nepal’s aluminum and electrical industries.
The plant’s launch is seen as a key step toward strengthening Nepal’s manufacturing sector and fostering industrial growth. The project is aligned with the government’s vision of promoting self-reliance in essential sectors and is expected to attract both domestic and foreign investments.
Litmus Industries Limited, a leader in Nepal’s wire, cable, and conductor manufacturing industry, continues to support the country’s development through innovative projects aimed at increasing industrial capacity and reducing dependency on imports.
