Suman Pandey, a renowned figure in the travel and adventure industry and the president of Explore Himalaya Travel and Adventure, has been appointed as the new vice chairman of the prestigious Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA).

Pandey is also the CEO of Fishtail Air, director of Summit Air and Chhaya Centre, president of the Himalaya Academy of Travel and Tourism, and president of Himalayan Pre- Fab Pvt. Ltd.

The 73rd PATA Annual General Meeting, held in Bangkok on June 7, announced the ratification of the new PATA Executive Board. Peter Semone, who has served with distinction, has been formally endorsed and will continue to serve as the chairman of the association’s executive board for a second consecutive term, according to the press statement issued by the PATA.

Luzi Matzig, chairman of Asian Trails Ltd., has been appointed the new secretary and treasurer of the association.

Members of the executive board include Ben Montgomery, director of business relations management at Centara Hotels & Resorts, Thailand; Henry Oh, chairman of Global Tour Ltd., Korea; Noredah Othman, CEO of Sabah Convention Bureau, Malaysia; Mayur Patel, head of Asia at OAG, Singapore; Gerald Perez, vice president of the Guam Visitors Bureau, Guam; and SanJeet, director of DDP Publications Private Limited, India.
