Sipradi Trading, the sole distributor of Tata vehicles, has priced the Tata NRG at an introductory price of Rs2.955 million, according to the press statement issued by the company.
The NRG is the company’s take on the entry-level cross-hatch segment and is powered by a 1.2L Revotron petrol engine that produces 84 bhp and 114 Nm of torque. The car comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
Customers can choose from three attractive colour options: Malabar Silver, Canyon Orange and Fuji White, with dual tone infinity black roof and roof rails.
The NRG is essentially a crossover version of the Tiago, getting new design elements to make the hatchback look rugged.
It gets tough armoured exteriors such as black plastic cladding across the body, faux skid plates and 14-inch dual tone alloy wheels. Even the grille, mirrors and roof rails get the black finish treatment. The NRG’s tough side profile is highlighted by unique squircle wheel arches.
While the exterior gets the ‘armoured’ treatment, the interiors get an active styling with a black interior with vibrant canyon orange highlights, cooled glove box and seats with body bugging bolsters featuring a unique denim inspired fabric. The NRG gets a large 242L boot space.
There is also a smart 5” touchscreen infotainment system and class leading eight speaker system, both by Harman. Owners of the new Tata NRG can utilise voice command for media, radio and phone, said the statement.
Tata is positioning the NRG as ‘Nepal’s youngest compact utility vehicle’ and has equipped it with specially tuned suspension for rough road terrains, intelligent electric power steering system and 180mm ground clearance.
Customers can take also take comfort in knowing that the NRG comes with many enhanced safety features such as dual front airbags, ABS with EBD and Corner Stability control, Reverse parking assist, smart rear wiper, follow-me-home-lamps and driver seatbelt reminder as standard.
Commenting on the launch of the Tata NRG in Nepal, Sujan Roy, head of International Business, Passenger Vehicles at Tata Motors said, “In line with our brand promise ‘ Connecting Aspirations’, we want to be in sync with the growing trend of bringing to market more SUV like vehicles. To meet this desire, we launched the Tata NRG in Nepal.”
He added, “We are confident that our customers will appreciate the Tata NRG’s young look and superior performance on tough road conditions.”
