NCCCI forms Silk Road Chamber

Given Nepal is also a part of the One Belt One Road (OBOR) initiative of the Chinese government, the private sector stepped up efforts to promote the Chinese initiative that is expected to benefit Nepal.
Other members of the council include Tribhuvandhar Tuladhar, Binod Bahadur Shrestha, Surendra Bir Malakar, Rana Bahadur Shrestha, Rajendra Malla, Upendra Paudyal, Prasiddha Bahadur Pandey, Kiran Shakha, Arjun Prasad Sharma, Umesh Lal Shrestha, RB Rauniyar, Prakash Singh Karki, Bishnu Khatri, Harish Chandra Shah, Sanjaya Agrawal and Zhiang Xi Ping.
“The council will work towards benefiting from economic activities and development taking place in countries connected by the revived Silk Road,” NCCCI said in a statement.
“As Asia and European countries will also be connected by the revived Silk Road, there is a scope to promote trade, investment, tourism and energy cooperation.”
Shrestha said the council will increase interaction among the private sectors of countries linking by the Silk Road. “This will help increase cooperation in trade, tourism, energy and other infrastructure,” he said.
