According to company officials, the smartphone unveiled on Sunday is presently available from online marketplace Kaymu and will soon be available through various outlets.
The company is offering the OnePlusX at an introductory price of Rs26,999 for seven days. After that, buyers will have to pay the regular price of Rs28,900.
“We have started selling the phone from Kaymu.com from Sunday, and it will be available from olizstore.com from next Sunday,” said Lokesh Oli, the proprietor of Oliz Store.
“The phone will compete with market leading smartphones particularly the Moto G and the Samsung Galaxy J5.”
OnePlusX, the company’s third flagship phone, is the first model from the Chinese manufacturer to be launched in Nepal. The phone is powered by a 2.3 GHz quad-core processor and a 2,525 mAh battery which lasts for 8 hours. The phone comes with 3 GB RAM and 16 GB internal storage.
The phone runs on the company’s flagship Oxygen Operating System and can be upgraded to 6.0.1 Marshmallow Android system. The rear camera has a capacity of 8 mega pixel while the back camera is of 13 mega pixel.
The OnePlusX comes in three variants—Champagne (White), Ceramics and Onyx (Black). The model launched in Nepal is the Onyx (Black).
According to dealers, 83 units have been sold so far and 170 more have been booked.
“More than 500 customers have inquired about the phone in the last two days because of its reasonable price and latest innovations,” said Oli.
The phone was globally launched by OnePlus on October 29, 2015 and has received good reviews from smartphone critics and websites.
